About Authors Joan and Elliott Groves
From Cleveland, Ohio, to the island of American Samoa--where their son, Joel, was born--to southeast Pennsylvania, Elliott and Joan have worked side by side for thirty-five years, Elliott as a biology teacher and Joan as an English teacher of students over the years from 28 countries. Now retired and enjoying "chapter three" of their lives, "Unproofed: Our Words and Images" grew from
Elliott's desire to share with his son what it was like to grow up in the 1950's and 60's. He began by
writing the kind of stories that "you would tell a child over the dinner table."
While a book was not originally planned, as the stories progressed Elliott enlisted the help of wife,
Joan, to produce this reflective and insightful volume.
The couple has written numerous articles in the educational arena throughout their teaching careers.
Unproofed: Our Words and Images is their first book.
